Personal Description: I am a qualified Secondary IT and Business Studies Teacher. I am experienced in teaching a number of OCR National Units. I have been teaching for 6 years having previously set up and run my own computer training and installation business, and prior to that worked in HM Forces before moving into Local Government.
I have three children of my own and have taught other children and adults both in the confines of their own home.

Tutoring Experience: I have taught at several schools in the north West, Canon Slade CofE High School, Bolton, Maricourt Catholic High School, Sefton, Rivington and Blackrod High School, Bolton, Trinity CofE High School, Manchester and St Georges Catholic High School, Salford to name but a few. I have taught in schools which have been classed as both challenging and also as high achievment schools, so I have a diverse teaching experience.

Tutoring Approach: Good education requires investment in quality teaching and learning resources. One such resource is the quality of the teaching methods and the teaching materials. I am able to offer a high-level of ICT expertise and the benefits of my teacher training and experience in schools. I am very keen to apply modern principles of pedagogy in my lesson planning, preparation and delivery, where supporting learners is the main and the central purpose of all activities. Regular observations of my teaching and planning, graded as "Very Good to Outstanding", strongly support this.

As a responsible teacher, I have been keen to promote respect and good ethics in the classroom by projecting myself as a role model. I have also been strongly defending the principle of equal opportunity and inclusive education for students of all backgrounds and abilities.

As a firm believer of good planning and preparation for creating successful teaching and learning environments I make sure my teaching schedules are made available in advance at all times in case others are required to cover my work. I regularly review my lesson planning and teaching from peer observations and feedback from my students. Also, I am experienced in supporting other teaching staff in providing help for students with Special Education Needs (SEN).

• BSc (Honours) with QTS* in Key Stage 2/3 Education and ICT
• BTEC Business Management and Administration
