Personal Description: I am a Newly Qualified Teacher from the Institute of Education and graduated from my MSci Mathematics with Statistics degree. I was born in Hong Kong, am fluent in English as well as Mandarin, and Cantonese is my mother tougue.
My favourite subject is Mathematics, esp Algebra, my tutees have successfully acheived A*s and As in GCSE levels and 2 of my students scored 100 in their P1 exams(AS old syllabus) and 1 student scored 100 in her C1 exam (95 for her C2 exam).
Tutoring Experience: I have been tutoring my friends as well as their younger brothers and sisters, since I was studying for my own GCSE. I mainly tutor for Mathematics, however, I also tutor for GCSE Science and Chinese. I have managed to prepare most of my tutees so that they get at least a grade higher than they originally wished to obtain.
I am a voluntary teacher at a Saturday Chinese School, this means I would have an up to date CRB clearence, it is my ninth teaching year. I have also held tutorial classes, for the first and second year students, during my final and Master year of University.
Tutoring Approach: I would like to believe that I am a person who is easily approachable although I do not tolerate bad behaviour. I have always been taught that, there is no such thing as being lazy, if I can make the work fun enough, you will like learning it.
I keep in touch with most of my past tutees to make sure that they are ok. Some tutees have came back to me in the past for help on other subjects such as Chemistry and Physics.
