Personal Description: I am a recent graduate and have spent the last few months working first in Spain and then in London. I spent a lot of this time teaching and tutoring, both in classrooms and privately. I am now based in Herefordshire and hoping to continue with tutoring as it is very rewarding as a career.

Tutoring Experience: I have taught courses in English as a foreign language both on a one-to-one basis and to classes of various size. I have also done several months private tutoring in London, where I concentrate mostly on GCSE and A-Level exam preparation for Spanish and Philosophy. I also did some primary level Maths and English tuition.

Tutoring Approach: I believe that one-to-one tutoring is one of the most effective ways to learn. I think that a regular session where a pupil receives the complete attention of the teacher is incredibly productive. I begin by establishing what it is that the tutee wants to achieve in sessions with me - is it exam preparation, regular extra help or going through a subject/topic in more detail. I will then attempt to plan a series of lessons accordingly with explanations from me and exercises to monitor progress.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Spanish and Philosophy from Edinburgh University (2:1)
• A-Levels: Spanish (A), Maths (A), History (A), Philosophy (A)
• TEFL 100 hour course - Grade B
• 10 GCSEs
