Personal Description: Just retired, I spent 20 years in industry before qualifying as a teacher at the age of 40.

Tutoring Experience: 20 years successfully teaching GCSE and A-level Maths and Further Maths in school and Sixth Form College. Tutor with Further Maths Support Programme. A-level examiner.

Tutoring Approach: Whilst it may help for a tutor to be friendly (and I am!), it is vital that he/she knows the syllabus inside-out and can advise the student well. As an A-level examiner, I often see evidence that candidates have been poorly prepared even by qualified and experienced teachers. I offer mathematical knowledge, ability to explain this at a student's level and pace, and the detailed knowledge of exams and exam technique which is often the difference between success and failure.

  • 1991: B.Sc.(Hons) Mathematics and Secondary Education (Leeds 1991) class 2(i). - Leeds (Bachelors)
