Personal Description: I went to school in Cornwall, and since leaving for university I studied and travelled for a number of years before returning to focus on building a career in teaching. I am very enthusiastic about the subjects I teach, and am constantly challenging and increasing my own knowledge. I relate well to the students I teach, and find a good sense of humor helps in any learning or working partnership.

Tutoring Experience: I have been a secondary school teacher in Cornwall for the past five years and a Head of Department for two. I teach and line manage teachers of; KS3, GCSE and A-Level Religion, Philosophy and Ethics. I am also a history teacher and have taught up to GCSE level in this subject. I have helped raise the grades and confidence of the students I teach, and believe that with hard work and patient, clear and enthusiastic support, students can achieve and surpass thier targeted grades at all levels.

Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is to firstly identify how the particular student best learns. I will then tailor our sessions using a variety of activities such as text based activities, kinesthetic work, brain gym exercises and mock exam aids if necessary, to improve their learning and understanding. Tutoring with me is friendly and relaxed, although with clear and achievable academic goals.

• BA HONS (2:1) Ancient History and Classical Archaeology - University of Warwick
• PGDip Broadcast Journalism - Falmouth College of Arts
• PGCE History and Citizenship - University of Exeter
• Currently working towards a Masters qualification.
