Personal Description: I have accumulated 15 years of teaching experience including 12 years as a University Lecturer and working in language schools throughout Japan and in the U.K. During this period, I have worked to lecture, to guide and advise a broad multi-national sphere of students in their studies. I have working experience in interpretation and translation between Japanese, Korean and English language for a total of 13 years including universities, primary/secondary schools, one-to-one tuition, language schools, international events including international sporting **Web Address Removed** broadcasting, judicial courts, companies and business at an international level. Thus my experience in language instruction has not just been limited to an academic environment. This wide variety of teaching placements has enabled me to collect a vast array of teaching knowledge and experience, in particular what are the necessary language objectives for specific target learning groups depending on their aspirations, requirements, nationality, etc.
Finally and perhaps most importantly because I myself have been a student of Japanese I really understand the difficulties which everyone has in learning this complex language - and have experienced these first hand myself, which for teachers who have not been through this process makes it impossible for them to understand the students viewpoint.
Tutoring Experience: I have taught in University, schools, the business, law and media environments.
-One to one tuition in a relaxed, friendly environment
-Instructor of Japanese language training course for foreign researchers under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) scheme
-Instructor of Business Japanese at Japanese companies under contract from Japanese Experts’ Language Training Service
-Tutor of Japanese, Japanese Language Proficiency Test under contract from Japanese Experts’ Language Training Service
-Tutor of Japanese, foreign Embassy.
-General Japanese / GCSE for Primary/Secondly students
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is decided by and tailored to the needs of the individuals I am teaching. Obviously, the casual learner or a student with an interest in, for example Japanese Anime, etc should be treated in a completely different way compared to those studying for an exam or those studying a business course. My experience allows me to not be tied to a single teaching method or be influenced by any specific environment or situation. In this way, I can offer a dynamic, lively, enjoyable but most importantly effective tutoring method which will get success.
