Personal Description: I am 37 years old with a first degree in Language and Literature, a PGCE in Education and seven years experience as a teacher of English Literature, Language and Film Studies in an OFSTED outstanding school. I live with my husband and cat and just outside Ipswich and before teaching had a successful career in publishing.
Tutoring Experience: I work full time in one of Suffolk's most popular and successful state schools. My role includes being a Form Tutor and teaching English to students aged 11-18. In my school I manage the A-Level English Literature teaching and I also teach Film A-Level. I also hold position of Gifted and Talented Co-ordinator. Away from the classroom I am employed in the training of new English teachers by Suffolk County Council. I also run the Debating Society at my school (last year we came third in the National Competition).
Tutoring Approach: I offer a friendly and approachable tutoring style underpinned by secure knowledge of the English curriculum from KS3-KS5. I am aware of the examination requirements of all major exam boards and am experienced at preparing students for exams.
