Personal Description: I am a young, dynamic and imaginative teacher who enjoys interacting with pupils at all levels. I am involved in history clubs and societies and have a wealth of educational experiences to draw upon.

Tutoring Experience: I am employed as a Teacher of History in a comprehensive secondary school and as a marker for the SQA. I am 28 years old and I have been tutoring and teaching for three years. When tutoring pupils, I focus on the skills and knowledge that pupils need to succeed in history. I have a variety of teaching methods and am available to my pupils via email at all times (this is particularly helpful during exam time). I have an excellent success rate, last session all of the pupils that I tutored gained the top grade possible in their examinations in 2011. I graduated from Strathclyde University in July 2006 with a BA (Hons) in History and gained my teaching qualification in 2009. Before becoming a teacher I worked as a trainer for a multi national bank for seven years. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and have found that it is key for a teacher to be patient, approachable and an effective communicator. I am flexible regarding hours of tuition and look forward to hearing from you. I am prepared to work within a 10 mile radius.

Tutoring Approach: As a tutor I always teach my tutee according to their strengths and build on their areas of development. I am approachable and build positive relationships with all that I work with. I am keen to improve the confidence of my pupils and believe that this is the key to their success. I regularly give feedback on progress and work through development plans to ensure that tutees (and parents) know exactly how they are progressing.
