Information About Elizabeth
Personal Description: I am forty two years old and live with my husband and two dogs in rural Worcestershire. I am an outdoor person and love to walk and garden as well as motor bike with my husband in Europe. Mostly though, I love to spend time with family and friends.
Tutoring Experience: I have been teaching since 1997. I have four successful OfSTEAD inspections behind me. I have extensive experience in the Primary sector. I have helped many children struggling with study skills, concentration and motivation as well as issues of understanding in Maths and English. I have also lots of experience in the further education sector with young people and adults tutoring one to one and in larger groups for Numeracy and Literacy skills up to Level 2 where I had a very high pass rate.
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is to creat a positive and motivational atmosphere in which the learner and I can diagnose and address their individual issues. Through experience and research, I will devise and deliver an individually tailored program of study with materials and ideas for practice. Often, some negative experience has had an impact on confidence and thus performance in a subject area,my aim is equip the learner with strategies to overcome a negative cycle with a positive 'can do' mindset and the practical know how to move forward
This can include lighter play based activity,practice papers,specific problem solving eg;percentages,fractions. I can also include some parental tutoring on topic work if desired.

He enjoys his time working with Lis. Lis's nature helps her to get the best out of him. We are very happy with Lis's work.
