Personal Description: I have worked in the electronics industry for 20 years+ in Design & Development roles and Technical Sales and Training.
I have two children ages 15 years and 12 years, my 15 year old is currently in his Standard Grade year examinations.

Tutoring Experience: Various teaching/training positions within industry.
Various private tuition sessions and currently tutoring my 15 year old on his standard grade Mathematics.
Currently tutoring various students of different abilities from 3rd year foundation to standard grade credit.

Tutoring Approach: Gain an assessment of your overall abilities in Mathematics and focus on the areas where confidence and experience is required. Actively set goals and homework to assess improvement.

From Lea Anne (5/5): (GCSE Maths) I am very pleased with Derek tutoring my daughter. They both clicked from the first tutoring session and my daughter is very comfortable in asking him anything she is unsure of. She is also enjoying the sessions and I have seen an improvement already with her in her maths class.

From Laura (5/5): (GCSE Maths) Derek is flexible in the times that he can tutor at a very competitive rate. He had a relaxed, friendly approach to tutoring which enabled my daughter to ask questions, without feeling uncomfortable. He remained, until he was satisfied, they had covered all the problem areas. Thanks to Derek, my daughter sailed through her 3rd year credit maths exam and I will now continue with tutoring for her standard grade.
