I am a freelance translator and language trainer - native in German - with over ten years of experience of working and volunteering in the educational sector (part-time).

Having studied teaching-related subjects in university, I gained profound knowledge about planning lessons and teaching foreign languages.

Tutoring Experience

I started helping school children and teenagers in Germany to improve their academic results in English and French while I was still attending college myself.

After relocating to the UK, I've been teaching German "from scratch" to individuals and small groups with different objectives, as well as practised with more advanced learners, for the past ten years. I am also currently helping young people to prepare for their GCSEs in German.

In my main capacity as a translator, I regularly help newly qualified colleagues to improve their work and also train other professional translators on specific projects.

My Master's degree in education from the University of Osnabrück included coursework about teaching foreign languages, as well as two work placements in German colleges.

Tutoring Approach

We can practice conversation, work towards improving your writing and grammar, or work on past GCSE exam papers (higher tier and foundation). I combine a traditional teaching approach with a friendly and relaxed style, and can adapt my methods to your personal needs.
