Personal Description: Hello there, this is Claire/Xinyi. I just finished my MA in Translation Studies at Durham, and now currently work as a trainee Project Manager and translator at a translation agency. I did a BA in English Teaching in Shanghai, and studied linguistics in Newcastle University as an exchange student. I love languages, and that's why I have been using them a lot and tutoring students either English or Mandarin. It's always my great honour to help those to achieve their goals.

Tutoring Experience: I have been tutoring students' english, chinese for several years.
I am also familiar with HSK as I tutored a Japanese girl who was working on it.
I have teached English at a local school for my internship.
During my year in Newcastle University, I have helped university students with their Mandarin learning.

Tutoring Approach: As pronunication is important and many people may find it difficult to command, i will introduce phonetics of mandarin in the first place. Also, I found contextual learning is quite useful as it helps students easily remember vocabulary and sentences. If you are more interested in grammer, I will be delighted to teach you as well! Needs are tailored in most cases.
