Information About Chiamaka
Personal Description: I am very patient, enthusiastic and creative. I am self-motivated and display a high level of commitment and a strong work ethic.
I have excelled in Maths, Sciences and English at GCSE level as well as going further to study Maths at A levels in which I obtained a grade A. I recently graduated from the University of Bristol where I studied Engineering Mathematics and achieved a BEng. 2:2.
One of my main interests is sports and I am fanatical about football. I am currently doing a FA Level 2 Certificate in Football Coaching which I find very enjoyable and useful in building a career as a teacher as it requires similar skills to that of a teacher.
I hope to start my PVCE qualifications in September 2010 as I would like to build a career as a Secondary School Mathematics teacher in the near future.
Tutoring Experience: I have previously worked in a nursery day care, which involved assisting children in their playtime. In addition to this, I have work experiences at a primary school. This involved assisting Year Three pupils by helping them to understand further in class what the teacher had taught.
At College, I took part in a mentoring program, which was set up to tutor Year 9 pupils preparing for their SATS. In 2005, I volunteered as a Group Leader on a HiPACT Summer School; my role involved organising workshops and outdoor activities for children aged thirteen to sixteen. The workshops involved helping the students deal with their fears, career goals and helping them set milestones to assist them in aspiring to their goals.
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is to have a relaxing and fun atmosphere, whereby students can overcome any anxieties they may have towards Mathematics as well as build their confidence in their ability to solve mathematical problems.
