Personal Description: I am 26 years old, and am currently in my 3rd year of teaching. My main subject is maths, and I have great experience of maths throughout my life, finishing with a Master degree in maths. I have plenty of experience working with children, as I worked in a tuition company for 3 years part time during my degree. I also have experience in private tuition and can provide references. I can speak Cantonese and can provide tuition in the language if required.
Tutoring Experience: I am currently in my 3rd year of teaching. I work in an inner city comprehensive, and have experience of teaching pupils aged 11-16. I have GCSE experience and am very familiar with the syllabus and the latest changes to the syallabus.
I am also the Key Stage 4 coordinator in my department, as well as over seeing Gifted and Talented and ICT in the department.
I also have experience of teaching A Level maths.
Tutoring Approach: Pupils are rarely spoon fed answers. I often allow pupils to discover concepts through guided activities and allow them time to practise and absorb the concept. I ask many open ended questions and allow pupils to correct their mistakes through further questioning.
