Information About Charlotte

Personal Description: Having been brought up by a french father and an english mother, I am fluent in both languages. I was born and raised in France, until I left for England to go and study Psychology at the University of Liverpool. I enjoy meeting new people and learning from them as well as sharing my own experiences. I love to travel and have developed a passion for Asia since a 2 months trip in 2009 around South East Asia.

Tutoring Experience: In order to fund my lifestyle and studies during my Bacholor and Masters degrees, I decided to advertise private french tuition for whoever needed it. As a result, for the past three years, I have enjoyed teaching GCSE, A level, University students, and professionals seeking to improve their French for exams, travels, or even just for pleasure. It has been an enriching experience and I have decided to take it further and set up my own tuition business.

Be**Telephone Number Removed** and 2009, I have also worked on a government funded project to raise higher aspirations in primary school pupils. The aim of the project was to promote University to Year 5 and 6 in order to increase their desire to go further in education after secondary school. Using games and activities, I taught the basics of either French, German, Spanish or Italian whilst portraying university life in a positive light.

Tutoring Approach: I believe that everyone has different ways of learning, motivation, interests and goals. For this reason, I tailor my sessions to meet the individual's needs and preferences. During my first tutoring session (free of charge!), I identify the person's level, the reason why they are learning the subject and their learning styles, in order to avoid getting confused later. I then suggest a 'learning plan' and discuss with the students how they would like to learn and what level they would like to achieve.

With this plan in mind, I use tools such as children's books (even for adults!), french courses, podcasts and various other media, as well as my own work. I have a large bank of resources for Year 7 to GCSE, and A Level and a pretty good imagination for conversation! I design every lesson to match my students' interests.
