Personal Description: Hi everyone! My name is Charlene I have just recently completed a BEd (Hons) in Primary Education with English as my main subject. I absolutely love teaching children/young adults of any age. It gives me great pleasure knowing that I have been able to make a difference to a child's life. I am 22 years old and in my spare time I enjoy going for long walks, socialising and spending time with my family.

Tutoring Experience: Throughout the four years I spent at Stranmillis University College I have had a lot of experience teaching children aged 4-11. I also spent three months in Hungary teaching English to Hungarian children. In the summer months I spend my time helping out at a local summer scheme.

Tutoring Approach: I would firstly have a discussion with the child's parents about the area/areas that the child is having difficulty with. I will then sit down with the child and have an informal discussion with them. I will begin the first session with a few icebreaker activities so the child feels comfortable in my presence. I plan to make the learning as active and fun for the children as possible. Children learn best when they do not realise that they are doing so. I plan to do this by using many home made and interactive resources. After each session I will monitor how well the child has progressed.

Qualifications:

• BEd (Hons) in Primary Education with English
• Mathematics - GCSE - B
• English Literature - GCSE - Bm English GCSE - A, English - A Level - B
• Successfully completed Erasmus Programme in 2008
