Information About Caroline
Personal Description: I have recently completed my P.G.D.E (inital teacher training) at Aberdeen University, where I undertook placements within local schools working with S1 to Higher year groups. I have previously worked in a secondary school in Falkirk, as a pupil transition support worker within the learning support department. I have a BA general in Arts with my main subject being History. I am just in the process of completing my second degree through the Open University which is in Politics. Therefore, i am able to tutor in both History and Modern Studies.
Tutoring Experience: I have been working within a secondary school so i have invaluable experience of working alongside young adults. As part of my first degree I completed the first year courses in Education. I was also lucky enough to undertake work experience in a secondary school (college) in the midlands which gave valuable experience of observing and helping within the classroom. I have also recently tutored two sixth year pupils and one standard grade pupil.
Tutoring Approach: I have an informal and highly pupil centered approach to tutoring. I offer further support and encouragement in areas where the tutee feels they require support. Past exam papers will also be expected to be undertaken which enables me to identify and plan lessons to help with areas where improvments could be made.

From Jenny (5/5): (GCSE History) Caroline has really helped build Jamie's confidence over the last 2-3 months and there has been a big improvement in his attitude towards history and his grades! Jamie has moved from General Standard grade to Credit and this would not have happened without Caroline's perseverance. Caroline is very structured and methodical in her teaching; she has provided a lot of extra material for Jamie to look at outside his lesson and works hard to make sure that Jamie's particular weaknesses are addressed. She has also and perhaps more importantly helped him recognise his strengths. Thank you for your help Caroline!
From Cherie (5/5): (A-Level History) I can not recommend Caroline enought , Rebekah obtained excelent results in her Higher history ,Carloines easy approach and well planned teaching sessons and extra time spent resourcing information for our daughter allowed her to gain in confindence in answeing the exam questions .

From Lesley (5/5): (A-Level History) Caroline is fantastic and gets on great with my teenage son , he even says how much he finds the sessions helpful! My biggest regret is I did not get her sooner. She comes fully prepared and is a pleasure to have in my home. She explains whats she's doing and gives you a rundown on progress/areas needed to work on. I would thoroughly recommend her.

Reply from Caroline: I prepare my tutoring sessions to meet the needs of the tutoree. I use power point pressentations for most sessions requiring revision of topic content knowledge as I have found that pupils prefer visual learning.
Most of the these lessons have been prepared for my current training post or from previous tutoring lessons.
