Information About Adam

Personal Description: My name is Adam ,

I have recently graduated from Oxford University with a first in Chemistry, and am currently looking to do some tutoring outside of my current job. I am a very keen footballer and golfer and am interested in many other sports besides. I also love movies and going out with my freinds when I get the chance.

Tutoring Experience: I have now been tutotring with First Tutors for 18 months. I have taught ten students in Maths/Physics/Biology and Chemistry from GCSE to Degree level. I have a wide range of experience tutoring children with differing abilities, from high achievers to people with learning disabilities like dyslexia. I have recieved a large amount of good feedback from my tutees so far and I would urge you to review this to confim that I am a suitable candidate for your son/daughter.

Prior to First Tutors I have been involved in a wide range of roles that have involved tuition. From teaching science at a struggling school to private tuition including eton and oxbridge entry candidates. I have also taugt at a normal secondary school for 3 weeks in my holidays from Oxford…

Tutoring Approach: I prefer to go through the material that the tutee does not understand, at a slower pace than they otherwise might experience in a classroom environment. As I do this I like to question them comprehensively to understand what they are learning and what they still have to learn and use that feedback to help me build their understanding of the topic.

I will use a wide variety of example worksheets and questions to challenge a pupil, whether it be worksheets that I have prepared or past paper questions from the relevant exam board. I find the combination of building understanding through description and example followed by reinforcement through questioning a very effective method of education and one which i myself have had many positive results with.

I will usually try and cover a topic per lesson and give the tutee exercises to complete by the next lesson. These exercises help build understanding of the topic further and I feel my best students have been those which have been fully engaged in this work post tuition.

I will be willing to travel but an extra £7.50 will be added to any fees stated on this profile as travelling expenses.

From Jill (5/5): (Primary Maths) Adam has been tutoring my son (Year 6) in maths now for about 2 months. We have been very pleased so far as my son with Adam's tutoring has increased his confidence enormously. He looks forward to the maths sessions with Adam and maths has gone from being a chore and a dreaded subject to one that is approached with eagerness to move onto the next topic. Well done Adam!

From Hilary (4/5): (A-Level Maths) Hats off to Adam! He has managed to make a reluctant AS student enthusiastic - and a lot more confident - about maths. I wish we had found him sooner.

From Anna (5/5): (A-Level Chemistry) Adam is a brilliant tutor, he explains things in clear way even for people with very little understanding of the subject like myself.

Adam is always on time and is very flexible, i haven't had any trouble with communication.

I would definitely recommend Adam to anyone with little to average understanding/knowledge of the subject.

Yours faithfully,
Karim

From Mk (5/5): (GCSE Maths) We were very satisfied with the arrangement we made with Adam, everything went very well and we look forward to continuing the tutoring relatonship with him.

From Khadiya (4/5): (University Chemistry)
