Information About Shemi - Cardiff teacher

Personal Description:

I studied cello at the Royal Welsh College of Music under Douglas Cummings and Penny Driver. I have been working as a session musician and teacher of cello and guitar in London until recently moving back to Cardiff. I have performed throughout Europe and the UK.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught guitar and cello for 12 years privately to both children and adults. I also have a PGCE in music education and taught as a secondary school music teacher for 7 years so I can offer support to students doing GCSE and A=level music.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very patient approach to teaching and recognise that everybody learns in their own particular way… some are visual learners, some react best to best to undertsanding the theoretical reasoning behind an action. Whatever your learning style I will adapt my lessons to ensure you reach your full potential. For Cello I teach to the ABRSM syllabus but can also help cellists who may want to explore improvisation, the electric cello and modern playing techniques. I specialise in electric and steel string acoustic guitar and follow the Rockschool syllabus if grades are the goal.
