Personal Description: An avid performer, and versatile instrumentalist, I specialize in the tuition of clarinet, bassoon and recorder, teaching to an intermediate level for saxophone and piano. I encourage my students, tailoring sessions to their individual needs, whether that is as a hobbyist musician, or academically entering for graded exams via ‘Guildhall’ or ‘ABRSM’ examining boards.

Tutoring Experience: I have been teaching since last October 2009. I am currently doing voluntary work at two local schools East Bergholt Primary and Ardleigh Church of England Primary School. At East Bergholt School I am helping them with the music department.

Due to times being filled up availability is as follows:
Monday 12-3pm
Tuesday 7-9pm
Thursday 12:00 noon till 2:30 and 7:30-9pm
Friday 12:00 noon till 2:30
Saturday All afternoon/evening till 8pm
I also give lessons during summer school holidays
Please note that from October I am hoping to open Tuesdays and Wednesdays to full teaching days.

Tutoring Approach: The most important aspect for me as a teacher is to ensure that the student has fun with learning music. I do give the opportunity for students to work towards ABRSM exams if they wish to do so. Every student has their own reasons for taking music lessons so I accomodate the tuittion to suit their individual needs.

I also understand that different age groups are learning for different reasons. I adapt my teaching for each age group to make it fun and enjoyable for both student and teacher alike.

Qualifications:

• Music BA(Hons), Grade 8 clarinet, grade 8 bassoon, grade 7 piano
