Personal Description: I have been playing Clarinet, Saxophone and Tin Whistle for 19 years now, and went to study at Chethams School of Music in Manchester for 4 years when I was 14 where I studied with the best teachers in the country. I went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London. I have performed in Italy, Spain, Germany, Croatia, Ireland and Norway. I am still performing very regularly in different bands. I have performed at many festivals around the country including Glastonbury several times.
Tutoring Experience: After leaving the Royal College of Music, I taught privately, all different ages and abilities from 7 to late 60s. I took people through various exams (Associated Board). I then taught for Sheffield Music Services in several schools, teaching full classes flute and clarinet and also groups of 3. I have run ensembles, and taught for different organisations. I stopped teaching for a few years to look after my little girl.
Tutoring Approach: I love teaching and also playing myself. I will teach you what you want to learn, I have a very good ear so can teach you anything that is within your ability just by listening to it and scoring it out for you. I play and teach most genres. Every student is different and I take this into consideration with everyone and the approach I take to each student.
