Personal Description: I have been playing the saxophone(s) for 25 years - teaching for 20. I have been in New Zealand and Australia for nearly 20 years, where I played with orchestras, made TV and radio jingles, played live lots, made a couple of commercial CD's, taught in local schools and privately. Tutoring Experience: 25 years, privately, and peripatetic schools.

Tutoring Approach: I take my lead from my first teacher, my friend John O'Neill (check out his bestselling tutor books). Tone, ear, sight-reading. My approach is quite a disciplined one, but we do have lots of laughs along the way. I try to get my students to engage with the instrument and their own musicality right from the start.

Qualifications:

• I have a BA (NZ) in Politics and History. I did Grade 8 saxophone.
