Information About Cory

Personal Description: I have just completed my Masters degree in advanced bassoon performance from one of the UK's leading conservatoires. I am trying to establish myself as a freelance musician and teacher. I am very involved in chamber music and perform regularly with a woodwind quartet.
In addition to advanced training on the bassoon, I also have ten years' experience playing the flute. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Tutoring Experience: Five years' experience teaching privately, from beginners through to grade 8.

Tutoring Approach: I believe that the most important thing a teacher can do is to inspire a love of the instrument and to help the pupil find their own voice. It is very easy to teach someone how I play-- what is difficult is getting them to learn for themselves what works best. I have high standards, but I think that music should be fun and enjoyable.

Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in advanced performance, 2008: Royal College of Music.
  • Postgraduate diploma in performance, 2007: Royal College of Music.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree in music, 2006: University of California, Los Angeles.
