Personal Description: Hello! I'd be delighted to help, whatever your reasons for needing to learn English as a second language. I've lived in several other countries myself and speak 3 other languages, so I understand what it is like to be a language student. You can come along to my training centre or it might be possible for me to visit you at work or at home.

Teaching Experience: I first taught English about 25 years ago and after a successful career in business I am now teaching again. I have experience teaching at private schools, language camps, community groups, in businesses and privately. About half of my students come for 1:1 lessons and almost all are adults.

I teach general English, English for business executives and English for healthcare professionals. If you want to save money, you might want to go on a waiting list to join one of my small (8 at the most) classes for general English. You may be interested in pronunciation-only lessons to 'polish' your English or be sure you will be understood when working in the UK. I also teach a short course to help with job-hunting and interviews.

Teaching Approach: Before we start, we will meet to discuss your needs and I will assess your level. What we do next depends on your needs. Most of my students want to start using their new language skills quickly so I use a methodology that focuses on practical skills that you can take away and use. If you have to take an exam (for example IELTS or a Cambridge language test), we might need to think about grammar more formally. I am happy to teach you whatever you need to learn.

The most important thing to bring to my lessons is a smile :-)
