Personal Description: I'm currently a student in MA Interpreting and Translating (English to Chinese and Chinese to English both ways) n the University of Bath. My mother tongue is Mandarin Chinese. I have finished all the exams and I woud like to teach Chinese during the summer. I also studied as an exchange student in Newcastle University in the year 07-08. I love cultures and travelling. I learn many languages such as German, Japanese, Spanish, etc. I grew up in Northeast China near Beijing, and learnt Chinese calligraphy for four years and won first price in the calligraphy competition for teenagers across the country.
Teaching Experience: I have always been taking part in mutual helping groups with my friends who learn Chinese. The nature of my course of study-interpreting and translating means I have better language skills in both English and Chinese than most English speakers whose mother togue is Mandarin.
Teaching Approach: Teaching language is a process during which the learner should both learn language skills and cultures and have fun. While the teaching contents are very important, it is also crucial for the teacher to nurture the student's interests in the language and culture. I'll tailor the teaching process according to the specific needs of the students, use multi-sensory teachings methods to help the students develop listening, reading, writing and speaking skills.
