Personal Description: I am approachable and enthusiastic and aim to help children gain confidence in their own abilities . I have a very patient and caring manner with my students. I'm a “young granny” with 2 young grandchildren. I now teach part time in primary schools.

Teaching Experience: I am a fully qualified Primary School Teacher working as a part-time teacher with West Lothian and Edinburgh City Council. I have been teaching in Scotland for fifteen years and have taught all Primary school ages and abilities. I have experience of teaching children with a wide range of specific learning needs such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and autism.
I have also taught English to children, from 3 years to adult ,in Japan and Africa ,for five years.

Teaching Approach: Each session lasts for one hour and will take place in my own home, although home visits may be arranged .Through discussion with parents and children we will create a teaching plan that best suits the child. I choose learning activities that motivate and increase confidence in the learner. We will work on areas for development to help students meet individual goals and targets with reference to the 5-14 Framework and Curriculum for Excellence where appropriate.
