Personal Description: Hi! I am an experienced, friendly, Dunedin based tutor of English language, literacy and literature. I hold a BA in English from the University of Otago as well as teaching qualifications in ESOL (English as a Second Language) and literacy.

I love to tutor and really enjoy seeing my students succeeding and reaching their learning goals. My background is in teaching and writing and I have lots of experience developing education programmes for all ages and levels.

I live by the sea with my husband and baby boy, having settled down in Dunedin after several years travelling the world.

Tutoring Experience: Teacher of English in South Korea (primary and secondary level) for one year (1995) with Oh Sung Sik Language School.

Private English Language tutor while living in UK, tutoring adult students from Argentina with a focus on conversational English.

Developed and taught specialised research/writing programmes for secondary students while working at a local museum, I also developed general interest education programmes for children and adults in this job.

Experienced literacy tutor, I currently teach literacy here in Dunedin.

Tutoring Approach: I believe that it is important for tutoring to be goal focused so students can clearly measure their achievements and progress. I can either develop full programmes or work with and extend material that students are working on in class.

Lessons should be enjoyable and I like to try and make classes fun and interesting. Classes can be 1 on 1 or in a group.
