Personal Description: I am 19 years old. I attended Dilworth School in Auckland. I am currently studying for a BA with a double major in Philosophy and Ancient History. In my final year at Dilworth I got a scholarship pass in Classical Studies. I am very passionate about Ancient History and History and I would love to able to share that passion with other people. I am a confident student and I have a good understanding of the subjects I do. I have achieved some very good grades since being at university as I head into my third year of study.

Tutoring Experience: When I was 15 I tutored volunteeringly to twenty-two year five children for two terms. I loved being able to show them the wonders of the ancient world and teaching them lessons that can be learned. In year 13 in my classical studies class I spearheaded the group that would get scholarships. We would have regular organised conversations about the topic's on hand and I was the one to organise all of this.

I have now tutored several students. I have experience now with year 13 classical studies, and with year 1 learning, especially basic English, and handwriting skills.

Tutoring Approach: With one on one tutoring more ground is able to be covered then when teaching in a group. This allows for more attention to be focused on weaknesses that come up. I try bring the subject to the student from a similar perspective to what might be taught in school while also trying to engage the student in the subject. When a student is passionate they will want to study and learn instead of being coerced into learning. I try to tutor based on the student strengths in the way they learn, for example, some students learn visually while others learn better by listening. What is of the up most importance is that the student enjoys the learning they are doing.
