Personal Description: I am a true History lover and a teacher with a genuine desire to see all my students succeed. I have been on the Auckland History Teachers Association Committee for 3 years as well as being the author of a Year 13 (Tudors) textbook. I have just had a textbook on Irish history "Shaping the Shamrock" published and am now co-authoring a Year 11 study guide. I also have my own business creating teacher resources and interactive student revision cds (**Web Address Removed**). I like to be kept busy and have travelled to many of the places that history students learn about… my most recent trip was to Vietnam and I hope to return there in the near future.

Tutoring Experience: I am a current History Teacher with 8 years experience, in both private and state schools. My teaching experience includes time as Head of Department at a top Auckland Girls Private School. I have marked NCEA examinations and have a sound understanding of the requirements of the external examinations.

My specialty areas include Origins of WW2, Black Civil Rights, Ireland, Weimar & Nazi Germany and Tudor-Stuart England. I can also teach Maori-Pakeha Relations, Israel-Palestine, South Africa and Vietnam. Unfortunately, I only teach the Tudor-Stuart topic at NCEA level 3.

Tutoring Approach: I am happy to teach you in a one-to-one situation or work with you and your friends in a small group (for a slightly larger fee).

I am happy to tutor you in your home, in my own home or in a local library or wherever suits you.

I can provide a number of services to you for example:
* I can teach you the basic content that you need to know
* I can help you with your internal assessments - researching, compiling information, pre-marking, writing up your findings etc
* I can give you practice essays/perspectives etc (and mark them!)
* I can give you exemplars/essay plans etc.
* I can also assist your understanding of source interpretation
* I can direct you to useful websites/films/books to extend your understanding

• 2001: Postgraduate Honours Degree - History - Auckland University (Other)
• 2000: BA - double major in History and Geography - Auckland University (Bachelors)
